Falling in Despair

by Francis

After a long day at work, tired and weak.

Resting on a bed, not woolly or fleek.

A sudden thought engulfs my brain,

Should the existence of humanity refrain.

Rise of unexplained blood-lust and anger,

Can’t resist drowning in despair any longer.

The flame flickered, budged and replenished,

Inevitably the will of fire slowly vanished.

And so the darkness enveloped my consciousness,

Stealing my last breath leaving me lifeless.

I wondered and felt the nothingness,

Consumed in the abyss of emptiness.
